چکیده

Tremor is an involuntary, approximately rhythmic, oscillatory movement produced when muscles repeatedly contract or relax. It has relatively fixed frequency and amplitude. To overcome the occurrence of tremor which is the root cause for human imprecision during surgical procedure particularly in case of microsurgery, a system is required to measure the hand tremor at the surgeon handle and to reduce the same at the far end at tool tip. In this paper, we review the previous work on classification of tremor, tremor characterisation, tremor suppression schemes and also the recent developments in the work area. This paper looks at possible methods of acquiring the tremor signals and all major processing techniques utilized for the signal analysis carried out in the recent development.

Minocycline Mitigation of Tremor Syndrome and Defect of Cognitive and Balance Induced by Harmaline

Introduction: Minocycline has anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptotic, and anti-oxidant effects. Preclinical data suggest that minocycline could be beneficial for treating common neurological disorders, including Parkinson disease and multiple sclerosis. Methods: In this study, the effects of minocycline on harmaline-induced motor and cognitive impairments were studied in male Wistar rats. The rats ...

Double adaptive bandlimited multiple Fourier linear combiner for real-time estimation/filtering of physiological tremor

Tremor is the root cause for human imprecision during microsurgery. Accurate filtering of physiological tremor is extremely important for compensation in robotics assisted microsurgical instruments/ procedures. A study on several surgeons tremor is conducted and the characteristics of the tremor are analyzed. A double adaptive bandlimited multiple Fourier linear combiner is designed to estimate...

Modeling and Control of Piezoelectric Actuators for Active Physiological Tremor Compensation

Humans have intrinsic limitations in manual positioning accuracy due to small involuntary movements that are inherent in normal hand motion. Among the several types of erroneous hand movements, physiological tremor is well studied and documented. Physiological tremor is roughly sinusoidal, in the frequency band of 8 – 12 Hz, and measures about 50 μm rms or more in each principal direction. Phys...

Compensation of Doppler Effect in Direct Acquisition of Global Positioning System using Segmented Zero Padding

Because of the very high chip rate of global positioning system (GPS), P-code acquisition at GPS receiver will be challenging. A variety of methods for increasing the probability of detection and reducing the average time of acquisition have been provided, among which the method of Zero Padding (ZP) is the most essential and the most widely used. The method using the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT...

Sensing Physiological Tremor in a Hand-held Microsurgical Instrument

INTRODUCTION Physiological tremor is an involuntary, approximately rhythmic and roughly sinusoidal movement [1]. It is inherent in all humans. The characteristics of physiological tremor are highly dependent on the body parts [2]. For instance, the frequency of tremor in the elbow ranges from 3 to 5 Hz while it ranges from 8 to 12 Hz in the wrist. Physiological tremor is benign for everyday tas...
